I saw a commercial for Tide yesterday that showed them bringing in trucks to Southern California that were loaded with washers and dryers. This was their charity, and what they were doing is allowing families that were in the wildfires this summer to use the washers/driers for free. At the end of the commercial, Tide asked for people to visit their site and buy a T-shirt to help with the cause. I thought it was a very noble act, and went right to the website!

It ends up that Tide is doing the same thing in the South to help the Katrina victims. All of the proceeds of the T-shirt sale will go "towards rebuilding efforts for families affected by the wildfires in Southern California and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans". The best thing is that you helping out the cause gets you a pretty cool looking vintage T-shirt for only $15. I hope many people purchase these shirts to help out.

With accomplishing such a large project for one of my clients, I decided I would treat myself to a new video game. I do not play a lot of games, but Guitar Hero has always interested me. The first evening of having the game was full of me playing song after song and making my fingers numb from continuously pressing the buttons on the guitar (I think I press the buttons too hard). The game then proved to be highly addictive when I played for a few hours the next night, and could not put it down the night after that! By the third evening, I had already played career mode in Easy and beaten it.

Other than just different songs, the game is loaded with things to keep you interested. By yourself, you can just play songs for fun, or you can start up a career. In career mode, you get money for every song you complete. Things that can be purchased with the money you earn are guitars, skins, new characters, outfits for your characters, songs, and a lot more. If you can find (I have not been so lucky yet) an additional guitar to play multiplayer, you can battle each other or start a cooperative career. One part that I have not tried yet is challenging people over the internet. It is a great feature for the game, but I have been more interested in other parts of the game!
