Gunpowder Falls State Park
gunpowder falls
I saw a State Park in Maryland on Google Maps that caught my attention because of its name. The name of the park is Gunpowder Falls. I had no clue why anyone would name a park this (unless it was a park known for hunting), so I had to get more details. There is hunting allowed in the park, but the name was given because of the Little and Big Gunpowder Falls and for the Gunpowder River. The park features a lot of things that revolve around the water like fishing, swimming, canoeing (flat and whitewater), boating, etc. There are other things to do around the park that do not include the water. These include hiking, picnicking, trails, camping, and so much more. I am sure everyone could find something they would enjoy in the 18,000 acres of the park. You will find me around the fishing scene if I come to check out the park. There is nothing better than spending some relaxing time around water!
