Hema
I received an email last week with a link to Hema, a Dutch department store. The page shows items that would be sold in the store, but they have been animated on the website to interact with each other. Every time something happens to 1 of the items, some other reaction will happen to another item on the page. What is occurring on the page reminds me of the old board game I used to play, Mousetrap. It does not look like you can make any purchases on the website (since the site is in Dutch, I could not read any of the content to find the online store area), but it is still a lot of fun to watch and is worth checking out!

Geekbrief Live Apple Keynote Coverage
In just a couple hours, Steve Jobs will be getting on stage (yet again) to deliver his
Macworld keynote address. As you know from past posts throughout the years, I am a huge fan of these keynotes, and I am always extremely excited to hear what he has to say!
To watch a keynote, you can either wait until it is over and watch the quicktime video that Apple will supply, or you can find a website that is live blogging about the keynote. I do the latter, and I have tested a few sites out in the past. This year, I will be reading the live blog by Cali Lewis from
GeekBrief. She is at Macworld this year, and will be at the keynote with her laptop in hand. With her excitement for Apple, I am sure it will be a ton of fun watching what she posts. Lets hope there are a ton of great new additions to the Apple lineup!

MacRumors: Buyer’s Guide
Are you thinking of buying a new Apple Product in the near future? I have known a few people that tell me that every time they buy something new from Apple, that product gets updated in a week or 2. To help out with this issue, keep a close eye on today's website. The site, hosted by
MacRumors, lists all of Apple's iphone, ipod, and computer products. Each product has a recommendation (if you were thinking of purchasing today) that is determined by 4 topics: the notes on the product, days since the last update, last release, and recent rumors. This Guide is a brilliant addition to Mac Rumors, and I will definitely be using it in the future!

XKCD.com
Are you a comic strip junky? If you are, you will enjoy today's website! To me, the site seems to base its comic strips on geeky topics. Stuff like math, technology, and science are always being referenced. The title of the site also mentions Romance, Sarcasm, and Language as being other topics for the comic strips.
The site updates every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The strips are really great to read, so check them out!

Weather.com
I have been keeping a very close eye on the weather for the weekend. I will be making my way back out to go camping this weekend at
Sprague Brook Park, and I am hoping to have some great weather. I am not sure what most people use to check there weather, but I am still a big fan of weather.com. The simplicity of the site is great. When you are at the site, all you have to do is enter your city or zipcode, and you are taken to the weather for your selected area. You can then view forecasts for today, yesterday, hourly, weekend, 10-day, or monthly. I usually only look at the image and the temperature, but they also give a brief description of the weather, wind, humidity, etc. To me, the information that the site gives should be perfect for any person...no matter how much or little information they are looking for! Something else that weather.com does that is pretty nice is that they allow you to create your own personal page. All you have to do is create an account, and then you can create a page that is specific to the information that you would like. This is a great feature if you use the site a lot. There are also a lot of other sections not "fully" related to Weather, but fit well on the site. These sections include Health, Travel, Recreation, and many more. One thing that I really do not like about the site is some of the very annoying advertisements. Some of them appear on top of the content you are reading, some move around the screen, etc. Even though I understand that they are here to make some income, there are other ways to advertise that are just as effective and are not as bothersome. The information on the site is extremely worthwhile to take a look at if you are looking for an easy way to get the weather for any area in the country. I highly suggest taking a look at today's site!
