Narnia - The Battle
Narnia seems to be a hot movie currently out in theaters. Their soundtrack has also recently been release, and if you really like background music (music w/o vocals), this is going to be a great CD to listen to! The CD reminded me a lot of music from other movies like Lord Of The Rings, and computer games like Warcraft 3. "The Battle" on the CD was a great song with solid orchestral that really sounds like it comes alive just by listening to it. It always really amazed me that a little music can make you actually see what is happening without actually seeing anything. After hearing some of the music from the Motion Picture, I am excited to see the actual movie....I hope the movie is as good as the soundtrack is.

Placebo - Pure Morning
Article Written by:
EricI subscribed to Yahoo! Music a few weeks ago to check out a subscription based service for tunes. Whenever I buy music, I still use iTunes because it works so well with my iPod but iTunes does not have a subscription service yet. Yahoo! Music is okay. There are a lot of bugs and a lot of really annoying things that iTunes just does much better. At any rate, the subscription model of service is pretty cool. You can download whatever you want for as long as you pay your monthly fee. I stumbled across the song Pure Morning by Placebo from the album Without You I'm Nothing the other day. It's a good tune, silly at times and serious at other times. Mostly, I like the beat and the fun lyrics. Definitely check it out if you liked Placebo's music from Fight Club.

Charlie Brown - Linus & Lucy

Who doesn't like Charlie Brown? I have grown up with his comic strips, a snoopy lunch box, "Joe Cool" paraphernalia, and all of the holiday specials of the peanuts gang. I watched their Christmas special 2 nights ago, and when I heard their theme song, "Linus and Lucy", I got to thinking that a song as simple as that has a lot to give to many people (young or old). Most people know the song that I am talking about, and if you don't, I really suggest at least listening to the 30 second piece of the song that iTunes will let you listen to...I am sure it will click in when you hear it. The song is so simple that anyone with an instrument that can play some melody (and some that even can't play melody) can easily learn and play the song. There are no lyrics to the song either, so that just makes it that much more simplistic. The amazing thing to me about the song is that whenever it is played, the people around to hear it seem to get that much happier, and have a little extra spirit in them for the rest of the day. Any song like that is worth hearing as often as possible!

Holiday Songs
Since it is December 1, I have to post about the holidays that are fast approaching. First, I try to be religious-free on the site, and that includes holidays...but Christmas songs have begun to played frequently on main-stream radios, so why not post about them here! There are many songs in this category that can also be played for other holidays that are around this time also. One of these songs is "Let it Snow, Let it Snow". Songs like this really get yourself and others around you into a festive mood. Everyone knows the great songs for the holidays, so I will not go into the details of the songs today. If you do not have any Christmas songs or any songs for your upcoming holiday, go out to the store and buy a couple of CDs you can play in your car or around the house. I also noticed that iTunes has a bunch of iMixes already created of various holiday music...take a look at them for a great selection!

Bobby Pickett - Monster Mash
To keep everyone in the Halloween mood, I figured that only one song would be fitting for the holiday. Everyone has to have heard “Monster Mash” some time in his or her life. If you have been listening to the radio this past week, I am sure you heard it many times! With the deep voice singing/talking through the song, it gives off the spooky feeling of Halloween, but with the instrumentals and the back-up singers, the song has a fun feeling and is defiantly not scary. All ages can enjoy this song, and I think this is what makes it so popular for the holiday. I am glad that there are not as many Halloween songs as there are Christmas songs, but the ones that are played are fun to listen to and keep the Halloween spirit going. I kept with an original version of the song, but there are now many different variations of the song that you can choose from. No matter what type of music you enjoy, I am sure you will find this song in your genre.
