John Mayer - I’m Gonna Find Another You
I had a phenomenal day last Saturday, and what really made it perfect was ending the night at the John Mayer Concert. I have been to a couple of concerts of John's before, so I expected a lot out of him...and it came through. His knowledge and love for music really comes out when he plays live. His band was a little larger than most groups have, but it was needed to capture all of the styles of music he plays. He had the standard drums, bass, keyboard and guitar, but added 2 other guitarists (1 being himself), a trumpet player, and an alto saxophonist. His lighting and stage was a mixture of an 80's style with the addition of computer lighting. I really thought it looked nice, but my sister did not like it at all.
One of my favorite songs on his new CD was sung at the concert. The song is called "I'm Gonna Find Another You. It is a slower ballad, but really sounded great with all of the instrumentals on stage. It is my favorite song on his
Continuum CD, and I would have to say the song was my favorite at the concert also!
One other exciting note was that Jessica Simpson was at the concert! She was sitting in the sound/light booth, and was trying to not be seen by the crowd...but it is hard to hide when you have 15 security guards escort you out of the arena before the concert is over!

Grateful Dead - Touch of Grey
You have probably heard about 420 at some point in your life. It is a big thing in high school for kids that do any type of narcotic. It meant that the group would meet up at 4:20PM (after school), and would smoke up. This idea was also pushed by a lot of big bands of the 60s and 70s...especially the Grateful Dead.
Let me
state and stress that I in no way, shape, or form support drug use!
Since today is April 20, I have decided to pick an extremely popular Grateful Dead song. There are a lot to choose from, but I have decided to go with "Touch of Grey". Even if the name of the song does not sound familiar, I am sure that 99% of you have heard this song! The chorus of the song is "I will get by". I know I still hear the song on the radio, on TV/Movies, in rallies, and so many other places. It is also a song that has been covered by many other bands. Enjoy today's song.

Fall Out Boy - I’ve Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None On My Fingers
One of my newest CD purchases was for a style of music that I used to listen to a lot when I was younger, but not so much anymore. I really have no clue why I bought the CD, but I am glad I did. The CD is called
Infinity on High by Fall Out Boy. The thing that I love about the CD is the amount of variation between every song. There are song that fit perfectly in the Alternative genre, songs that seem to more punk rock-ish, and even a ballad on the song that I could hear a chorus singing at a school or college.
One of my favorite songs on the CD is "I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears and None On My Fingers". It is the last song on the track, and what a way to go out! The song is powerful from start to finish, and the instrumentals throughout the entire song gives me goose-bumps! When I listen to the guitar track in the song, I feel that this would be a perfect song to have on
Guitar Hero. The vocals are really good in the song, but they are not what makes this song great! I highly suggest downloading this song...if not the entire CD!

Mike Relm
Last night I was fortunate enough to score a ticket to see the Blue Man Group. They are currently on their "How to be a Megastar Tour 2.0", and they were at the
HSBC Arena in Buffalo, NY last night. Yes, the concert was amazing, and the Blue Man group is well worth the cost to see them live, but I want to spend a little time writing about their opening act.
The opening act last night was an artist named Mike Relm. He classifies himself as a DVD-J. I have listened to a lot of great DJs, and love hearing them scratch, but this was out of this world. He did everything that DJs normally do, but he added another element...video! He actually took very popular video clips and played music and scratched to the video. I think the crowds favorite part last night was when he took the
O face scene from Office Space and remixed it. I highly highly highly suggest taking a little time and viewing the work he has done. I know I am will be looking feverishly to see him live again!

Bum Rush the Charts
This is the first time I have ever heard anything like this, but today (03-22-07) there is an initiative to "Bum rush the charts". Mainly the song "Mine Again" by Black Lab will be pushed heavily today to be sold on iTunes. Their overall goal is to make this song the #1 seller for the day. Why are they doing this? First, they want to show big media and associations that Podcasting is a powerful media unit. Second, they would love to help Black Lab "get their own music back". The group has been dropped by 2 major record labels, so this could help introduce more people to the group's music.
Both the the website and the group have decided to put the majority of the profits to scholarship funds for college students. The podcast will donate 100% of their affiliate earnings while Black Lab has given 50% of their earnings on each song.
I would usually add a link to iTunes for the song, but I would prefer anyone interested in buying the song to go through the podcast's website. This will guarantee the money to go to the scholarship. If you are interested in reading more about this, please make sure to visit
