Woods Wins Accenture Match Play
It is a scary thought when someone tells you that Tiger Woods is at his best during head-to-head or match play competition. He has again proven this statement to be true by winning this weekend's tournament, the Accenture Match Play. Not only did he win the crown, but he did it in a dominating fashion. He ended the 36-hole match with a 8-and-7 victory, the biggest winning margin in the tournament's history. The win also gave him a few more things to add to his resume: Holding all 3 of the world titles at the same time, having a 4-tournament winning streak under his belt, and a 5-world tournament streak. Even more impressive, Tiger said after the match "I think this is the best stretch I've ever played". Is this the peak of Tiger Woods? Will anyone step up this year to make a fierce competitor? Will Tiger finally succeed in the Triple Crown? The only way to answer these questions is by watching this summer's golf!

Zednik has Neck Injury
With 10 minutes left in the Sabres game last night, Panthers forward Richard Zednik was cut in the neck by a skate of teammate Olli Jokinen. He was rushed to a Buffalo hospital to have immediate surgery on the wound. After 2 hours in the operating room, he is now stable and on the road to recovery..and hopefully playing again.
This type of injury is the second the Sabres have seen. Clint Malarchuk had a similar incident while playing goalie for the Sabres. Malarchuk's accident happened about 19 years ago, and I hope it will be another 19 years (or more) before it happens in the NHL again.

New York Giants - Super Bowl Champions
I will be honest, I wanted the Patriots to win. I was hoping to see history last night, but the Giants were the better team and the outcome of the game showed it. The Giants are a fun team to watch, and I have kept a close eye on their games throughout the year. Eli started off the year struggling, but ended the year as the Super Bowl MVP. His play throughout the playoffs and last night has been no less than stellar! He did deserve the MVP for the game, but so did the Giant Defense. They played out of their minds and kept Brady from having any chance for good timing. Congratulations to the New York Giants, and enjoy the excitement that comes with it!
