Apple Keynote 2007
apple 2k7 keynote
For any technology weblog, the main article today has to be about the Apple presentation that was held yesterday. This is one of those weblogs!

Steve Jobs got on stage yesterday and showed some awesome new products. The iPod line was the focus. The iPod Shuffle came out in new colors, the iPod video was made thinner with a larger hard drive (and was renamed to iPod Classic), and the iPod Nano debuted their newest enclosure with new colors. People were excited to see these changes, but they paled in comparison when Jobs showed the newest iPod to the iPod line.

Since the iPhone was such a big hit when it was released, Apple has created an iPod that mimics the look and technology of the iPhone. I was amazed! It has the touch screen technology, the great looking interface, wifi, and much much more. It is selling in 8GB and 16GB models priced at $299 and $399 respectively. This must be the next thing I purchase!

Other things that were released at the presentation were ringtones for the iPhone, a wifi store to allow you to purchase songs directly on your iPod Touch (and the iPhone I think), and a partnership with Starbucks to be able to buy music that is being played at the coffee shop when it is playing at the store.

Analysts are saying that a big mistake occurred at the presentation. Steve Jobs has discontinued the 4GB version of the iPhone and has reduced the 8GB model $200 (the new price for this model is $399). To me, price drops are normal in the technology world, and I know that Apple is known to drop prices when new products come out.

It was a phenomenal presentation, and you can watch it on their website. It requires you to use Quicktime, but that should not stop you from watching.
