Did you know that today is Rosh Hashanah? Well actually, Rosh Hashanah is from sunset of yesterday all the way through to sunset tomorrow. I saw this jewish holiday on my calendar, realized that I did not know anything about it, so I ran over to Wikipedia to learn more. The holiday is actually their "New Year for people, animals, and legal contracts . It is a time that they reflect back on their year, self examine and repent. It seems to me that this holiday is not a happy and joyful holiday, so I am not sure if I should say "Happy Rush Hashanah", but I still felt like writing about the holiday and letting people read more about it. I have attached a cute video that I found that celebrates the holiday. One thing that I noticed in this video and others that I watched, but was not able to find the meaning is that apples dipped in honey is a tradition for Rosh Hashanah...can anyone tell me why?
