7-up Banned Commercial
I was skipping around You Tube today, and started watching Banned Commercials. Some of the best commercials you will ever see are the banned one! It makes me wonder sometimes why some of them are even banned in the first place...

The one that I really liked today was for 7-up. I do not want to ruin the video, so just watch it and enjoy!

Steve Ballmer - Old Windows Commercial
I remember seeing Steve Ballmer start a presentation for Microsoft and thinking, "This guy is insane"! I figured that after years working at a company like this, anyone would lose their minds, but now I see that he has always been like this. Today's video is a commercial that used Ballmer to help sell Microsoft Windows in the early days (I believe it was Windows 1.0). He is just as excited in this video as he is in the presentation video. I am sure you will get a good laugh out of it!

CBS - The Big Bang Theory
the big bang theory
A show that CBS is pushing heavily for their fall lineup this year is called "Big Bang Theory". It is about 2 geeky roommates that have a very pretty girl move in next door. They all become friends, and she helps them along with understanding girls.

To me, the show sounds similar to Beauty and the Geek (shown on CW), but is scripted. Why are shows like this becoming more popular? With technology growing, the amount of people in sciences and technology seem to be growing also...introducing mass numbers of geeks! I know a lot of people similar, but not to the extreme of the 2 roommates (including myself), so I feel a lot of people will be able to easily relate to their roles. The show will be aired on Mondays at 8:30 PM. To continue promoting the show, the pilot has been put on iTunes for a free download! Make sure to get it before they start charging again for it.

Rosh Hashanah
Did you know that today is Rosh Hashanah? Well actually, Rosh Hashanah is from sunset of yesterday all the way through to sunset tomorrow. I saw this jewish holiday on my calendar, realized that I did not know anything about it, so I ran over to Wikipedia to learn more. The holiday is actually their "New Year for people, animals, and legal contracts . It is a time that they reflect back on their year, self examine and repent. It seems to me that this holiday is not a happy and joyful holiday, so I am not sure if I should say "Happy Rush Hashanah", but I still felt like writing about the holiday and letting people read more about it. I have attached a cute video that I found that celebrates the holiday. One thing that I noticed in this video and others that I watched, but was not able to find the meaning is that apples dipped in honey is a tradition for Rosh Hashanah...can anyone tell me why?

Apple Keynote 2007
apple 2k7 keynote
For any technology weblog, the main article today has to be about the Apple presentation that was held yesterday. This is one of those weblogs!

Steve Jobs got on stage yesterday and showed some awesome new products. The iPod line was the focus. The iPod Shuffle came out in new colors, the iPod video was made thinner with a larger hard drive (and was renamed to iPod Classic), and the iPod Nano debuted their newest enclosure with new colors. People were excited to see these changes, but they paled in comparison when Jobs showed the newest iPod to the iPod line.

Since the iPhone was such a big hit when it was released, Apple has created an iPod that mimics the look and technology of the iPhone. I was amazed! It has the touch screen technology, the great looking interface, wifi, and much much more. It is selling in 8GB and 16GB models priced at $299 and $399 respectively. This must be the next thing I purchase!

Other things that were released at the presentation were ringtones for the iPhone, a wifi store to allow you to purchase songs directly on your iPod Touch (and the iPhone I think), and a partnership with Starbucks to be able to buy music that is being played at the coffee shop when it is playing at the store.

Analysts are saying that a big mistake occurred at the presentation. Steve Jobs has discontinued the 4GB version of the iPhone and has reduced the 8GB model $200 (the new price for this model is $399). To me, price drops are normal in the technology world, and I know that Apple is known to drop prices when new products come out.

It was a phenomenal presentation, and you can watch it on their website. It requires you to use Quicktime, but that should not stop you from watching.
